Customs and 'things to know' when traveling Malaysia

I am getting ready to go to Malaysia soon (KL, George Town, and Cameron Highlands). What are some of the local customs I should know when traveling the country? While there's no way I will blend in (I'm decently tall and white), I want to minimize sticking out or insulting the local culture.

You'll be in 3 of the places most used to tourists so nothing in particular to know. Malaysia is a uniquely multicultural country with very friendly people so while you won't blend in you'll be welcomed. Have no fear, just enjoy yourself. It won't be difficult.

Make sure to dress modestly when visiting religious sites and remove your shoes before entering temples or homes. Enjoy your trip!
