Cuban cigars

What can someone tell me about availability of Cuban cigars in China and which ones to try and prices/best places? Are there fakes like other items? I am certainly not by any means an officinado on cigars, maybe smoke 3 a year. Just thought what the heck if they are available this might be a once in a lifetime chance -or are they importable?

The rule with Cuban cigars ANYWHERE in the world is:

They are fake unless you buy them from a very reputable store. Even in Cuba.

What Ian stated is true. DD was in Cuba and her friends at the Ministry of Education took them to the factory to purchase cigars, and they enjoyed a great tour of the place.

I'm not expert, but I do enjoy a good cigar. I always stick to the duty free stores in airports to/from China. I can vouch 100% if they are real, but they sure taste great! There are just too many fakes about.

Note that they are NOT importable to the US, bob56 if that is what you were asking.

Bolivar Belicosos . . .

Here is a link to a great site about Cuban cigars. With prices in Cuba to give you a benchmark. Real Cuban cigars are not cheap so any 'deals' are always bogus cigars.

Thanks all. The expertise exceeds my expectations. The duty free store sounds like the place to start. Without specific recommendations it sounds like it might be chancey in Honk Kong, Shanghai or Beijing. The recommendations and web link were great.

I will try to stay downwind to all
when I sit upon the Great Wall.
