Corbett Wildlife Park
We are returning to India again this year in October and November. Our first short trip out of Delhi will be to Rajasthan again this time to the Shekawati district and Bikaner. After a short stay in Delhi again to enjoy the colourful lights of Diwali we proposed to visit Bangalore, Mysore, Hampi and Goa but that would only leave us with one day in Delhi again before our return journey, so we have decided to visit Corbett Wildlife Park which we have wanted to visit for a while, but just never got around to it.
So, having reviewed all the information on Fodors about Corbett, it appears to be rather old information, so I am posting again with the hope that someone will provide more up to date information.
As we will be there in the first week of November, the Dikala section of the park will probably not be open. We have written to Ramesh to get an idea of what he proposes and a quote.
I understand that one can only get a permit for a maximum of three days now and not the six or more days older posts spoke of.
Forktail Camp appears to have closed. I remember getting an e-mail from the owner quite some time ago when we had thought about going to Corbett that he was closing his accommodation but would consider people who had contacted or stayed with him earlier. The site is not totally off the grid.
So I am looking for comments on possible good clean accommodation with some heating as it will be getting colder in November. We have no interest in resorts with swimming pools,
Any comments from recent trips by Fodorites would be greatly appreciated.

Well Dikala Zone will be open from 15th Nov to 15th June. And about Fortail Camp you are right it has been closed, but you can opt for Tiger Camp, Riverwild Camp, Camp Hornbill, Corbett Jungle Lore and Corbett Village Camp.
You can make online reservation with Jim Corbett and book you place in advance. Have a nice and adventurous trip and Keep posting about the trip.Thanks.

A maximum of three days is all one is allowed.
Corbett is best enjoyed by staying inside the Park, and this is my conviction, having been a regular for a quarter of a century!
As the last time for entry at Dhangarhi is about 2:00PM (could be checked on the Govt. website), you may spend the previous night in one of the hotels on the perimeter. If the forktail Creek is still willing to accommodate, it would be ideal. My choice, although, would be any hotel on the River Kosi. I like the Infinity on account of it's location, have stayed there on many moonlit nights.
A few hours fishing for the Mahaseer, on catch & leave, is very rewarding.

Please do tell us more of your experience in the Corbett NP. There are several hotels in the buffer zone, one better than the other. We are keen to know of your stay inside, the fauna you saw & perhaps photographed, any extraordinary sightings...there are always some unexpected happenings.
