Coorg or Munnar for 5 days?
I'm looking for suggestions for the last leg of our month-long trip to India this December, and would appreciate suggestions on whether to go to Coorg (via a flight to Mangalore) or to Munnar (via a flight to Cochin). I've been to Cochin before, so it would really only be a stopover before catching a car to Munnar.
Are the landscapes similar? Is Munnar nicer than Coorg? I'll be traveling w/my husband and toddler son.

I've not been to Munnar but I've been to Coorg, so I can't really say which is better. They're both hill stations so the weather will be quite cool in December. We drove from Bangalore (about 5 hours I think) and stayed 3 nights at the Orange County Resort.

I've been to both. I found coorg attractive enough to return. Instead of flitting about from place to place I'd recommend basing yourself in a good coffee plantation based homestay and doing a few trips from there. A good location would be further inside compared to madikeri, which is the district hq and quite busy. Look for areas near kakkabbe. We stayed at honey valley and were pleased. To get a good feel of coorgi culture, visit bhagmandala - your homestay owner should be able to arrange a car, etc.
