Conde' Nast Awards are out

The Peninsula takes the bragging rights here over the Oriental beating it out again for top Asian hotel. It came in at #4, the Oriental at #5. The #1 was Fullerton in Sing.
Best Pacific Island- Maldives
Best Airline for International routes- who else- Singapore!
Best Asian Resort- Four Seasons Bali at Sayan
Best Asian City- Bangkok

For you people that live in the northeast is like that old adage:
"never eat yellow snow"

The Travel Channel had the Conde'Nast Travel Awards show last night hosted by Samantha Brown. It was anti-climatic since if you are a subscriber to the magazine then you already knew the results for all the catagories ahead of the show! The presenters just did not seem too interested and while I can't exactly put my finger on it- the show just did not seem to work- it seemed forced.

Yeah, I saw the show....Bangkok got #1 for Asian cities....Florence for #1 for European cities...San Francisco #1 for American cities...for about the 15th time I think they said...Bermuda #1 for the favorite island...Sydney#1 for downunder....and Cape Town #1 for African cities. There were other categories, but I can't remember those results. Happy Travels!

Maybe the concept would have worked better if they expanded it to 2 hours and then had a little more insight into the candidates for each category. Maybe they could have had more interesting presenters that were better conmnected to the travel industry- it seemed like Samantha would rush out announce as presenter then rush off stage- they needed some other elements to the show.
I don't remember them talking about how the winners were judged.

Yes I would not mind having her job- lets see.... travel the world, stay in 5 star hotels, eat lavish meals, sight see all day long- and you get paid a nice salary to boot. Ok guys whats not to like about that?
