We weren't too late! While the peak has passed for some trees and some species, still lots of colour around. Hanami parties at Maruyama park in full swing owing to fantastic temperatures.

Kanazawa full bloom probably tomorrow. Today stunning! Wish I could include a photo.

Hi from Kochi in Shikoku - sakura appear to be finished here but I saw plenty in the northern part of Shikoku - Takamatsu, Tokushima and Matsuyama.
