Thanks, Craig! That's what I've been finding. Do you know if it's cheaper to go to a travel agent. Someone told me it is but online I'm finding one way flights in Feb. for $730 (one way). Also, how is aeroflot? I have never flown them.

I wouldn't fly Aeroflot at any price. Air India isn't much better but at least its "safe". You could check some of JamesA's recos directly on their websites - see if the connections work - or perhaps a local consolidator would be the way to go. Continental flies direct from Newark but it is pricey.

You should call one ofte Indian travel agents that will almost certainly have tickets that are cheaper than anywhere else. These agents usually book in blocks and therefore get certain discounts. That being said, a friend recently found tickets from NY to Mumbai & back on Virgin Atlantic for ~$1000 using kayak.com, but that was for next June.
I have bought tickets from Bharat Travel in NY in the past and have not had any issues. 212-889-7511
Another travel agen I've used in the past is based in Michigan but I've found her to be trustworthy as well - Geetha Travels 248-689-5201.
