Chaweng Regent, Koh Samui

Has anyone been to this hotel? We would love to hear if you have! We are also looking at the Chaba Cabana.Any info on the hotels and the surrounding areas would be welcome. For instance, we don't want to be stuck in the hotel every evening - are there any restaurants/bars you would recommend?

Been to Samui several times. Always stay
at the Amari Palm Reef in Chaweng.Very
busy in Chaweng at night so better to stay on the outskirts and walk in.Too many restaurants to name but try the Drop In.

i heard that the regent's pool was under construction. check completion date before you book. there is a fancy resturant by a california chef that is supposed to be awesome. it starts with a "a" check the dining in koh samui books when you get there.
my advice is to not buy anything the first few days and get a feel for prices before you end up overpaying for stuff. cds should cost 100 baht. sarongs 100-180 baht. we just got back from the long island resort on lamaii and enjoyed ourselves.

I do not recommend either of those hotels. The Chaweng Regent is the better of the two though but is very big.

The Amari is at the wrong end of Chaweng and most of the rooms are across the road from a beach.

Try Poppies.

John

www.SuiteAsia.com
T ravel Community and Message Board
For people who love Asia
