Anyone know if you can change New Zealand dollars in Vietnam - eg in Saigon or Hanoi? <BR>

I wouldn't take the chance mate. The locals wouldn't Know what they were looking at, banks either for that matter. Best to stay with the greenback, hell, I've even changed the USDollar on the street markets in France. Our money is junk overseas.

When in Hanoi last year, I changed US $ at the ANZ Bank. I would think that you could change New Zealand money in a NZ bank. It is also easy to take care of traveler's checks and use Visa.

Hi, James!<BR>I'm sure JRegal is right about changing NZ dollars in an ANZ bank, but the point is, how many ANZ banks are you going to come across in Vietnam? Mostly you will see the Vietcombank, and they like US dollars. So do the street changers, who give the best rates of all. Any other money is worth no more than Monopoly money, and if you take a chance on your NZ money being changeable, you are going to end up stuck somewhere! Follow Bill's advice, and change everything into the US greenback, which every child over 6 recognises instantly... and covets!

Everyone wants US dollars. One hotel refused my euro travelers checks.
