Hi Bill,
I have read your blog over the past few days and just wanted to say "thank you" to you for writing it. It was a joy to read. You and your partner seem like great people, and I loved your approach to travel and your "awe" that was conveyed in many posts. We're going to Bangkok and Siem Reap in March and are really looking forward to it. And we'll definitely stop by the Blue Pumpkin!
Will you be blogging from VN/Laos next month?
Liz

Oh ya, filmwill, I forgot to ask, did you have a lot of issues with mosquitos in Thailand? You mentioned in one part of your blog that you pre-treated your clothes? Was that just the regular DEET spray or something else? (Mosquitos tend to love me)......

How nice to see my old post revived (and just in time for our upcoming trip!)
To answer some questions:
mango, Face does have a site at:
http://facebars.com/
I recommend emailing them through the site and setting your appointment that way (spa menu is online)--they are usually very quick to respond.
Liz, I'm touched--that's really sweet of you to say. Looking forward to hearing about your trip in March...you'll love BP...in fact, you'll love everything about Siem Reap. Enjoy every minute of it! And, yes, we will absolutely blog on our trip in November--whether or not we do it "live" like last year, is still up in the air. It was a bit of work uploading photos and what not, and I might be more inclined to want to relax a bit more this time--but I don't know if I'll be able to resist.
In fact, if anyone is interested in being added to the blog this year, just email me at [email protected] and I'll add you before we leave.
Penelope, to answer your question: I wouldn't say we had a problem with mosquitos (certainly not more than anyone else), but they are there in full-force. We used Permethrin to treat our clothes. It's easily bought at any outdoor store, it's easy to apply and it lasts through many washings. It certainly helped--between that and the DEET, I only got bit once the entire 2 weeks away. Hope you enjoy your trip--jealous that you're going to Phi Phi. Its' beauty will surely be something you're not going to forget anytime soon. Please post a trip report when you get back!
