Best way to share photos with trip reports?

Hi,
I'd like to post some photos to accompany my trip reports, but what's the best way to do this? Shutterfly or Kodak share make you invite people to view your photos. Is there a sit I can post them and just print the link here? Thanks for the help.

www.smugmug.com

ours at: http://craigandjeane.smugmug.com/

Take a look. I think we pay a small annual fee but it's so clean and free of ads that it is worth it.

Craig, I just looked at the new dental office! Wow!!! Nice!

I would also like to share photos sometime. Maybe smugmug is what I should consider. Your pics look great! (and I like the no ads)

Craig - Nice pictures! My husband is from West Hartford originally and still has family there. Did you grow up there?

I use Picasa http://picasaweb.google.com/Nywoman and like it a lot.

Don't edit the way I should but that is not Google's fault

IMO Fodors should upgrade the forum to allow photo upload.

Only problem with shutterfly for me is i can't open them??? it always comes up with an error message saying action aborted...
Now Andy may say this is a good thing as i can't always view Bobs photos!

Barefoot - this was a great question. I'm still trying to figure out the best way to store pictures and make a blog. We have such beautiful photos but they are all on DVDs. I'd love to make a blog or photo book. Sometime back there was a nice discussion on making books, but I don't recall which program was recommended.

I don't know what was recommended in the past, but Blurb.com does excellent work with their books and I found it pretty easy to use if you watch their tutorial video. You can look at sample books that have been published on their site. A sample one of mine on Israel and Jordan is at http://www.blurb.com/books/914067 I have a new one on India but haven't yet made it "public." Actually I have several you can find by searching Patty Roth under books. And it is great fun.

And in answer to your other question, I like pbase.com and if you have Mobile Me with a Mac computer, you can build your own website to showcase your photos. Ex. www.pattyroth.com

Thanks for all the responses. I've used shutterfly for family photos...but I wanted to use a site that everyone can access the travel pics but not the family ones. So thanks Craig, I think I'm going to try Smugmug.

Yes for Smugmug you can lock galleries with password(each gallery can have different password if you wish) or even make them invisible to anyone you don't want to see the gallery.

I used zenfolio.com for my Africa photos. Its a wonderful site. Easy to upload and your can just give you web address to friends or post it anywhere, like this:
