best hotel for family of 4
It looks like I'll be able to bring my family with me on one of my work trips to Tokyo in October and I'm not used to planning for more than myself. Have done endless searching and there are such conflicting reviews out there (of course.)
Schedule:
arrive from US on Saturday (narita)
Sunday - family day to sightsee in Tokyo
Monday - Wednesday I have work meetings so husband will be on his own with 2 kids (9/11). I need to be near a major train station for travel to various locations.
Would like to move Wednesday to be near Disneyland which we'll do all day Thursday.
Fly home Friday (narita)
Would love to do a ryokan experience but struggling to find a great one.
Any recommendations? Really appreciate it!

What do you mean that you have to be near a major train station? Where do you need to go? Generally any rain station on the Yamamote or Chuo line will get you almost anywhere. What is your budget for a hotel?
Probanly would not bother moving hotels to go to Disneyland

There are not many places that can take 4 people in a room - I know of the Belmont, and the Olympic Inn, though I've never had four to a room. And I have no idea of your comfort level or budget. Most places though would only have twin rooms, and a few have triples. The other option is the backpackers solution of dorm style rooms, and there is no shortage of those places as well. There are some Japanese inns (ryokan) also, though these are not high end resort places. There is the Tama Ryokan, Taito Ryokan or perhaps the Tokyo Ryokan. There are more here, but I have no idea about 4 to a room.
There are loads of things to see with the kids in Tokyo. One of the hottest places is the TeamLab Borderless museum as well as TeamLab Planets nearby.

Some of the best computer digital fun you will ever see.
Or more ideas here, here or here... in addition to the usual Sensoji Temple visit, Meiji Shrine, or have them run around some of Tokyo's beautiful traditional gardens. Just note that any info on the Tsukiji fish market is obsolete - it moved to Toyosu.

Two doubles in a Toyoko Inn or business hotel chain equivalent may be a solution.
Most of these hotels are near transport hubs that can get you anywhere in Tokyo area, Maihama Station is the gateway to Disney and google maps will help you plan routes and times.
Consider early start on Disney day to beat rush hour. Check the Disney website for closures and special events.
As to ryokans, for that type of experience I’d look outside of Tokyo proper. We had a great stay at Kashiwaya Ryokan, Shima Onsen, on a package deal that left from the front of Tokyo Station. Two and a half hour bus trip and we were there.

If you see that a hotel, even a very western style hotel, that has "Japanese style" rooms, chances are good that you can have four people in there. When we traveled with our daughters, we'd ask for these rooms and they'd just bring in two more futon beds at night. It's common for Japanese to travel in groups (school kids, office co-workers, extended families) and like to share just one or two big rooms. The cost is per person, so many hotels are happy to bring in the extra beds.

All the booking sites will let you search for a 4-person room. No need to guess.
Avoid Disney on the weekend if you can. Weekends during the Fall are the busiest days of the year. Do not move hotels, but try to get there one hour before rope drop. DL is mostly like MK in Florida, so just go to Disney Sea if you only have one day. Also, you can buy your ticket the morning you get there.
