Musch indebted if anyone can suggest hotels that is best for shopping as I have requests from so many people. Is Oriental close to shopping areas?

Yes, the Oriental is near the River City Shopping Mall, as are the Royal Orchid Sheraton and the Shangra-La hotels.There is a small street market outside of these hotels too. I'm staying ata the Shangra-La for a few days in Feb. Have fun, and don't forget to bargain. <BR>

Grand Hyatt Erawan is right in the middle of a shopping district. There are a few big shopping malls next to and across from it. Also, Silom Square, which is a market type of shopping, is about 10 minutes away.

On Silom Road, there's the Holiday Inn Crowne Plaza and, for less expensive accomodations, the Silom Village Inn. I toured the first and stayed in the latter about six months ago. I recommend both.

Oriental is in between Shangri-la and Royal Orchid Sheraton. The latter is adjacent to River City Shopping Mall. Closest to several big shopping centers are the Erawan and the President.

The Dusit Thani hotel just at the corner of Silom Rd and Rama IV is very near (walking distance) to the Robinson's dep't store , night market and nightlife in Patpong. <BR> <BR>The Pavilion (only a 3 star hotel) is right in he heart of Patpong.
