The biggest new thing at Asiatique is the Ferris wheel. More shops and restaurants have opened, and the theaters are in full operation.

Did not get there, but there is still tonight. We need to go to the airport by about 8:30-9:00, so maybe a chance?? Not holding my breath on it though.

DS took 2nd in the tournament and DH took 3rd. Both very pleased (especially DH at age 70)! Very exciting to watch. They faced each other twice during the afternoon/evening. First match DH won, then DS won the re-match. Very proud of my guys. This is a sport they both enjoy.

We have decided to keep our apartment until 6pm for an extra 1/2 day charge. Then we'll leave luggage with the door man and have dinner somewhere, and then go to the airport. We will get to experience Thai international first class service, at check-in and in the fabulous lounge, and then on the new A380! Makes having to leave Bangkok a little more palatable.

Forgot to add.... nice running into you on the sky train Michael. Hope you got your camera battery. I had more fun than humans should be allowed, shopping (and buying) a number of cell phone cases at MBK!

Thanks, Karen. It's ready. The 'burg will be about 43 degrees, so not too awful, when we get back home.

We are enjoying Moet champagne in the Thai first class lounge right now. We're not ordering food as we will be fed on the plane shortly after take off. I hate eating so late (we leave at almost midnight) but I will do my best to eat my pre-ordered meal!! I chose shrimp balls in noodle soup. DH will have beef ribs in red wine sauce.

We were met at the curb here at BKK airport. We each had our own assistant who took our luggage cart and directed us into the Thai first class lounge, where we were offered a comfortable seat and some cold water and cold towels while our boarding passes and luggage tags were processed. Then, off to Fast Track security, followed by immigration (assistants still carrying our carry-on bags and coats). Down the escalator to a waiting 'golf cart' which took us through the business class lounge, all the way down to the first class lounge where we were offered Moet (Dom will be on the A380, I'm sure). All the private 'rooms' are busy tonight so we are seated in the general seating area in our own little quiet corner. UA should do this!! (haha) When it is time to board our flight, we will be escorted to the plane, as a group. There should be 12 of us? I think that's how many 1st class seats there are on the A380. Although maybe not all passengers are here in the lounge. Some may be shopping??

So far so good.... not dreading having to leave BKK toooo terribly.... haha

All that pampering sounds great to me. Moët please bring it on. Seriously, after all the miles you have logged you deserve this luxurious ending to your trip. Bon voyage.

The A380 experience was really terrific! Can't say enough about the fantastic ground service, both in Bangkok and in Frankfurt (where we are now) as well. Time to catch the UA 777 now..... ORD, here we come.

Made it home around 3:30, after landing ORD on time at 10:30. We had a 3-hour drive, which was very easy. We both slept on our two long flights so we felt 'rested'.... sort of.... haha

Anyway, no snow, or very little evidence of it, so very happy about that.

Slept 12 hours!!! Back to work!!! Three days to do as much as I can, and then off to Vegas for 8 days next week.... aaackkk!!
