Bangkok August 2010 GTG Report

Great mini GTG with great people! Lots of food, drinks and pleasant yet naughty conversation about past and future travel.

In attendance were my family and I, Carol and Brad Simpson and our guest of honour the dogster. I took a few pictures and with the dogster permission the world will now get see the first official photo of our beloved dogster.

So nice to see Carol take her first bite of dim sum and Peking duck AND like them too! Brad was playing with his new Iphone 4 but for some strange reason he couldn't get a signal. All this while the dogster was telling us about his adventures from one side of the globe to the other. We all have now been invited to a future Kathmandu trip and the dogster will act as our personal guide!

lol lol lol. That's not me at all. That's the famous Dogster impersonator! The real Dog is in Kathmandu.

He did just E-mail me, however, telling me he had a great time and wants to thank Pook for picking up the tab.

Looks like a great spread. Did the dog fall into his water glass? He looks a bit wet to me. Glad Carol liked the Dim Sum. Now she as a new food group to try on her various travels.

Pook, it was a lovely time! And yes, thank you for picking up the tab!

Kathie, it was at the 59th (60th) floor at Banyan Tree, the Chinese restaurant. The name escapes me right now... And yes, it was a great venue.

Pook, thanks for sharing the photos. I love the one of the dogster (impersonator?).

Sure, Bob... my travel wig. This is the new hairdo that I got at Saks in NYC, and it cost more than the plane ticket to get me to NYC!!! Glad you like it. Dogster said I looked years younger.... oh, you dog....

Check my report for the news on the Thai first class lounge, where I'm sitting right now!

Bob,

The "green ball", lol, is filled with egg custard. A different variation from the usual egg custard buns.

Lol. My, the dog is much younger than I imagined. A mere pup. That spread looks delicious. Were you drinking rose'?

Yes Marija. My note from the event: "Fresh, precise, musky perfumed pointed nose. Quite tight(!) with lovely fleshiness to the man, toasty complexity. There’s a subtle white edge too. A nice man that’s youthful for his age with a real sense of presence".
