Bali - Top 10 Must See

I would love it if each person could respond to this thread with their #1 must see destination in Bali. This can be anything at all: A temple, a city, a beach, a restaurant, a favorite market etc. Feel free to repeat other people's suggestion if you feel the same. All I ask is that people limit their response to only 1 destination! Thanks

There are so many!
If I had to choose one I'd go for a dance performance. Those at the Palace in Ubud (Puri Saren) are always good quality as are the Barong performances in Batubulan. (I like Stage Chandra Budaya.)

But my favorite is a performance that takes place every Monday in Junjungan
a village about 20 minutes from Ubud.
The village provides transportation from and back to the Ubud Tourist Information Center. Ask for Krama Desa Adat Junjungan. Or ask your hotel to arrange a car.

The dance is a Kecak and the whole male population of the village participates. It is performed by torch light and involves rhythmic chanting and trance dancing. It's a special and mystical experience.

I'd have to agree with Bob on this one. Seeing a temple ceremony was one of the highlights of our trip as was stopping to watch a very colorful procession down the road from Hotel Tugu.

Not my must see but my "must eat there":
in Jimbaran Bay the Kalang Anyar Restaurant for a wonderful seafood dinner. It's next to the Four Seasons entrance. I've tried others but this was by far the best. Enjoy Bali, I miss it a lot

Bob, guilty as charged! I couldn't narrow it to just one. I'm sure no one will mind if you put a few more in!

Oops, I didn't see the last line requesting the limit to just one. Well, Bali is just ONE destination...

Sorry Chicago Man (and Bob, am I forgiven?)

Begawan Giri is a construction zone now, don't stay there, but do eat there (eat in the KUDUS ROOM and ask for the COMPLETE menu).
