Bali - Ritz Villas

Couple quick Q's:

First, are the plunge pools at the Ritz really private? Would it be unreasonable for me to take a late night skinny dip in this "private" pool?

From the posts I have read, it seems like while the Ritz is secluded in its location, there is more to do on the actual property than at the FSJB. While I do enjoy relaxing, the last thing I want to do is spend all day at the beach. Does the Ritz really offer more in this respect?

I still have time to switch from the Ritz to the FSJB - this is my honeymoon and it will be my one extravagant holiday in a long long time - so any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

I just wrote about the FSJB to someone else; I stayed there for my honeymoon last April. I thought it was the best place I had ever been. We actually took a bike trip through the island also and went to the Ritz as part of it. The Ritz has a lovely cove.

From my brief impression of the Ritz, I htought the FSJB was more romantic. The plunge pools are private (and skinny-dippable... ), as is your villa. There's an outdoor shower as well which is completely secluded. At the FSJB, you have beach/water sports, pool, meditation, tennis, mountain biking, a spa, etc.. I would also recommend that you hire a regular taxi driver to take you around the island -- much cheaper than the guides they will recommend at either resort.

If you have more questions, post them here and I will do my best to answer. I don't give out my real e-mail address b/c of spam. Thanks!

Bali Driver's & resorts info

Jose & Jen,
Go to www.balitravelforum.com.
You can review comments all the way back to 1997. Anything you want to know is on that site regarding Bali. You can also do search on exact description that you're looking for.

Ask the hotel to call you a taxi. When the guy (always, in my experience, a man) gets there, just ask him how much he would charge to take you around for the day. It will probably be around $30. I'd have a list of places to see first.

Not sure what you like to do. I think that eating as much Indonesian cuisine as possible would be a good thing! Don't be afraid of spicy food...
