Average Airfare to Thailand?!
More of a comment then of a question but any suggestions as to airfare prices and places to look would be appreciated!
I'd be flying out of the DC/MD area and almost fell over when I viewed airfare today at $1700 and up per person! I have always kept an eye out and the prices seemed to range between $1000 - $1200. I thought July/August being their rainy season airfare would be less!

Summer airfares to Thailand tend to be high. Only high season, Dec-Jan generally has higher fares. July-Aug isn't rainy season for Thailand. It is rainy in the Phuket area at that time of the year, but not the whole country.
$1000-$1200 is a good fare. Just keep watching fares, watch for sales and check various airlines.

I've noticed regional airfares are also dearer than in the past couple of years. Probably to do with the cutbacks in the number of flights. While there can still be some super cheap fares on Air Asia, if you book only a month before then the prices have nearly doubled for some places I fly to regularly.
