Auberge Mont-Royal hotel Siem Reap

Has anyone stayed at this hotel. Can you give me an idea of what its like and how far from the centre of town it is. Any alternatives would be welcome. (in a similar price bracket - $50 US)

I stayed there in July of last year and liked it very much. It's quite close to the center of town (rather than close to the temples). I walked into town and to such places as the Butterfly Garden--really nice spot to unwind!

The hotel itself has a unique and attractive/aesthetic look and feel to it; my room was quite large and comfortable. The staff is lovely, very nice and helpful.

Happy trails!

Thanks Amy, I wanted to be able to walk into town. Did you by any chance book a driver or guide through the hotel? Did you use their restaurant at all? Thanks again - its good to know its okay.

Regards Mary

I did book my guide and driver through the hotel; they did a fine job and were very helpful in planning my short stay (alas, only three days, after two and a half weeks in Vietnam.)
The breakfast that I had at the hotel restaurant was quite good; I mostly walked to "town" for my meals, though, as there was more activity there. (Although it was pretty mellow altogether.)
I'll be happy to answer anything else that I can either here or at my email: [email protected].
