Asian Adventure?

Hello- I am a 50yo single woman who's friend just backed out of a summer trip- I am apprehensive about traveling solo to the East. Can anyone recommend a reliable/appropriate tour group/agency?
Many thanks!

I highly recommend doing the trip on your own. I just returned from a 5 week solo trip, visiting Laos, Vietnam and Thailand. It was truly one of the best trips I have ever taken!

You will meet many other travellers if you don't stay in big American style hotels.

You don't mention where you are going?

Asia Transpacific does some very interesting group trips in Asia. I used them a very long time ago.

I used Mongol Global for China/Mongolia in 2005 and to volunteer with pandas in 2006.

With either of these two companies you can mix and match independent or group travel as you wish.

Globus is well known for international group trips.

If you are interested in the above companies and Googling for info on them does not produce a means of contact, please email me.

I'm in your age group. If I were you, I'd do it on my own. I've been doing it on my own since I was 17 and have been fine. It's much easier now to do it on my own than it was when I was younger since I get much more respect now. I've basically done two dozen countries on my own. Back in the 90s, I did Singapore,Bali,Northern Thailand, and Bangkok on my own and for three weeks. I had the time of my life. Happy Travels!

Forgot to ask...where exactly are you going? And also I've had it a LOT easier traveling in Asia alone than in lots of other places. Happy Travels!

Hi Azul:

I posted a response to your other inquiry in the Europe forum, which in now buried deep in the forum. Here it is:
Azul,

Pacific Delight Tours has many tours. We did the China Imperial Experience - Historic Cities and Yangtze River Tour; and it was great. Our group was 16 people and only 2 married couples in the group. It would be comfortable for a single woman; and give you an opportunity to dine and talk with others.

Linda

Thank you all who have responded.
You've given me more confidence to go it alone, as well as tours to investigate.
I am thinking of Vietnam.

Many thanks!
