Ao Nang Hotels - Thailand

Does anyone know anything about the Pavilion Queen's Bay Hotel, Thai Village Resort or Ao Nang Pakasai Resort? Thanks.

Ed - I was in Ao Nang back in second week of November. I did not stay at either of the hotels you named. But I did drive by the Ao Nang Pakasai Resort.

It looked rather nice, but it was a healthy distance from the town of Ao Nang.

I stayed at the Ocean Garden Resort, and paid less than 5000 Baht for two nights breakfast included. My room was spacious but basic. Bathroom was good size. Rooms are built on the hillside. Pool was ok. And shopping and restaurants right within 1 minute walk.

I think the Pakasai Resort was probably fancier and higher priced. But for me, the best thing about Ao Nang was its village atmosphere with shopping and tons of choices of where to eat. And the Ocean Garden is very convenient to everything.

Michael

Thanks, Michael. When you say 'healthy distance' what do you mean? How long would it take to walk from Pakasai to where all the restaurants and shops are? Also, is it a reasonable walk to make after dark? Thanks.

I looked for a web location map -
Try this website:

http://thailand-travel.org/listings/krabi/aonangpa402.htm

{paste the above address into your browser address bar)

Then you can click on the location map tab to see for yourself. Looks like the Ao Nang Pakasai Resort is at the northern end AND around the bend from the Ao Nang Beach itself.

I recall that coming home from the day cruise to Koh Phi Phi they dropped people off at the Pakasai and it was around the bend. The map proves this out.

Now that I see the map ... it is probably about a five to seven minute walk to the northern end of Ao Nang's main beachfront street. Likely not bad going out for dinner but I'd sufggest a tuk-tuk ride back.

The Hotel itself looks very nice.

Michael
