Anyone in Chiang mai Jan 1-10

I'm at the Baan orapin those 10 days and I know there are two other fodorites who will be staying there during that time. Anyone else staying there or elsewhere in Chiang Mai during that time?

We'll be in CM just after you in early February...Looking forward to reading about your new "finds" there before we leave for our trip! P.S. I just noticed that Oasis Spa now has two additional locations. I went to the original one at 102 Sirimangkalajarn Road.

We will be in CM Jan 5-10 at the Rachamanka. If there's a GTG, I'd love to come have a drink. All that shopping will have me thirsty!

Hi Gloria,
We won't be in Chiang Mai, but we're going to overlap with you in BKK at the Oriental after all.

We'll be spending the last night of our trip there - Jan. 13th-- before heading home the 14th. (Originally we planned to stay at the Peninsula, but decided it was too much trouble for one night.)

If it works out for you, would you like to join my husband and me for a drink the evening of the 13th?

Marcy-- I'd love to get together on Jan. 13th. It's my travel companion's birthday so I'm sure we'll be doing a special dinner somewhere that night but we should still be able to meet for drinks. My email is [email protected]

I have gotten so much information from all of you online and want to thank you for the time you've taken to share your knowledge. I will be staying at the Sheraton Chiang Mai 12/31 until Jan 2. I made this sidetrip plan on the recommendation of a good friend who spent New Year's Eve in Chiang Mai and insisted that I do the same. I have not however discovered any special events planned for NY Eve in Chiang Mai. If possible, a drink together could be possible. Again, thanks, chr(Carl)

Glorialf: I will be in Chiang Mai New Year's Eve and staying at the Sheraton Chiang Mai. You responded to my posting about NY Eve celebrations questioning the hotel. It is the Sheraton Chiang Mai. Any NY Eve information? Thanks, chr

chrpd, I don't mean to be negative about your trip plans, but am concerned that you will be very disappointed in the Sheraton Chiang Mai. It is the least appealing of all the CHiang Mai hotels in terms of location and state of the hotel, which is quite run-down. Rooms are dark and dreary and bathrooms are old & in disrepair. Its not too late to chiange and there are wide variety of options usggested by others on this forum. You can check Sawadee.com for good rates. Just a suggestion that is meant to be helpful not critical.

I also would do everything possible to avoid the Sheraton.
