What about The Siam Hotel - I've read some rave reviews (of course, for that price the reviews ought to be good!) I haven't stayed there.

The St. Regis also gets great reviews.

Carol Simpson likely has some apartment suggestions for you.

No new apartments that I have found (wishing I could find something new)... The Park Hyatt is scheduled to open sometime before the end of this year, I believe. It is located at the new Embassy Mall which opened its doors in early May of 2014.

I'm watching for Hyde to open! I think it might be 2015 though (or even 2016). It is right in the heart of Sukhumvit Road, between soi 8 and Terminal 21 Mall (on the "odd number" side of Sukhumvit.

Marriott has a newer hotel (opened in 2013) and Executive apartments. I have stayed at both places. Way too far from my area of Sukhumvit though, as it is located at soi 57. Some folks really like this area with its restaurants. I didn't take the time to explore the area that much in my two short stays here.

I am planning a stay at the Muse Hotel, a newish- boutique hotel. I don't know if it's a great location for a tourist or not. I've seen favorable trip advisor reviews but don't know anyone who has stayed there.

Hyde is a Hyatt property. I'm hoping that part of it is hotel and part of it is serviced apartments. Location... PERFECT for me.

stricky, the Muse hotel is a 10 minutes walk from Central Chidlom department store and BTS station. I've eaten at the hotel in their basement restaurant and took a tour of their rooms when they first opened. From what I recall the common area is a bit small and so were rooms.

The Grand Swiss has opened in May though I've haven't stayed there as of yet. You should checkout Hotel Icon's modern architecture too.
