Read the current cdc information regarding malaria prevention in India. I believe Lariam is no longer effective here (regardless fact you have taken for other destinations with no side effects). You might require the newer Malarone, which have few if any side-effect compared to Lariam. And discuss with your physician or travel med specialist before doing anything.

Kathie - thanks for the update. I hadn't checked the cdc site when I posted my thread (my error), but overall Malarone is much gentler on the system, if one can consider these particular meds gentle... they do what they do the best versus the alternative.
