Thailand…..temples, Tuk-Tuks, and terrific food
Yes, it’s a very long flight. Chicago to Taiwan, 16 hrs. 3 hr. layover, then 4 hrs. to Bangkok. But what a fantastic experience !
Arriving very tired at The Ramada Menam Riverside hotel we were pleased to see that the hotel was top-knotch. Located right on the main river walking distance to many shops, restaurants, etc.

We were a group of 12 traveling with our travel agent who took care of everything for us. Definitely the way to go, easy, no stress.
After settling in we met for a welcome dinner. I’m not a fan of buffets but this one was massive with every type of fresh seafood imaginable and Asian delights.

Arriving at the Ramada Menham Riverside I was happy that it was a top-knotch hotel situated on the river and walking distance to many shops and restaurants.
After settling in and testing a bit we had a welcome dinner at the hotel’s buffet restaurant. I’m not a fan of buffets but this one was huge with every kind of fresh seafood imaginable and many other tasty choices.

The next day was a day of temples, Buddhas, and The Grand Palace.
The weather was nice in the morning and evening but extremely hot and humid at midday.

The Grand Palace

That evening we took the free shuttle boat from the Ramada to
ICONSIAM mall on the river. 7,000 shops….yikes!
we only hit a few and then had dinner at Jumbo Seafood restaurant. Great food, nice view, and live jazz music. A very pleasant way to spend an hour or so.

ICONSIAM MALL

I’m the redhead with the Blue Hawaii drink in hand

Yummy shrimp, scallops, etc.

I posted this as another post and it got messed up so I’m starting over. Please disregard initial posting.

Our Bangkok hotel was the Ramada Menam Riverside and it was a good choice walking distance to shops and restaurants.

Drive from airport….high rises everywhere

On to the floating market. How they are able to get people into and out of those flat bottomed boats is a miracle. It’s like sitting on the floor of a wide kayak. What a fun day!

Pet a Python anyone?

Boats all jammed together trying to get to the vendors

If you want the moderators to modify anything, use the orange triangle on the bottom left of each post.
You could have done that before starting another thread when you wanted it to be a TR

You had two trip report threads but they were posted on the Europe Forum. Both were moved here and merged into one thread. See posts #3 and #9 above. And now it looks like you've started yet another (3rd) thread. and all three have responses so deleting any one thread would probably be difficult at this point. Contact the moderators and tell them what you want done . . .
