about to take off!!

Hello all, we start travelling tomorrow. I've been working so much on booking the inns and outs of this honeymoon that i feel like a travelagent!
Here's our latest version of the itinerary. Grateful for any last minute tips, suggestions etc.
Hoping the weather in the south improves.
Happy New Year to everyone!!

24 December land in BKK with Thai Airways and have one of Ratt's drivers (Kaew) drive us to the Banyan Tree Bangkok. Spend the morning R&R (massage at Banyan Tree) and then possibly go to Jim Thompson's house in the afternoon. Dinner at Celadon in the nextdoor Sukhothai hotel.

25 December - xmas mass at the cathedral near the oriental, then a river tour then lunch at the China House. Afternoon tour the grandpalace and nearby Wat. Evening (if still awake!!) dinner at LeLys.

26 December - shopping! lunch at the Pen Restaurant (the one mentioned in the NYTimes) and dinner at Mahanaga.

27 December. Kaew (Ratt's driver) picks us up at 8:00 and off we go to Athuthaya and then to Sukhothai where we spend the night at Ananda Museum Gallery.

28 December - visit Sukhothai and spend the night at Ananda once again

29 December drive on to Lampang and visit several sites along the way - sepnd the night at Lampang River Lodge.

30 December - the Lampang Elelphant Centre for the morning and then drive on the Chiang Mai to stay at Yaang Mai Village. Kaew leaves us here.

31 December - visit Chiang Mai with a guide called Ittihpon (mentioned by someone on this website) and in the evening dinner, dance and party at the Mandarin Oriental.

1 January - fly direct to Phuket and then take speedboat to PhiPhi (hoping weather picks up!!) to spend five nights at the www.zeavola.com

6 January - speedboat back to Phuket, fly back to BKK and take connecting flight.

Brussel, Sounds great! Your fiancee is very lucky to have you taken such time and effort to come up with a plan that includes everything, even where dinners will be!
I'm curious (directed at everyone/anyone)--is it possible to have a driver and cover Chiang Mai/Lampang in a day? And I'm sending positive thoughts your way on Phi Phi Islands..we'll be going Jan 20th! Please be sure to post a report once you're back and have a GREAT TIME!

my only comment might be that you might want to return to bkk one day earlier at the end to avoid any weather delays or similar so you do not miss your home flight....the day we flew to phuket this june, all flights until mid-afternoon were cancelled or diverted....it would just allow me to sleep easier....take a late flight from phuket so you had the whole day there...

just a suggestion....

Have a great trip! We'll likely run into each other at the elephant center or Yaang Come.

Have a wonderful honeymoon. It all sounds wonderful although I agree with Bob that I would come back to Bangkok the day before your flight.
