I'm in the midst of planning our next trip and realized that I never did finish this. So I will although it may be a bit briefer than above.

The next day was a very slow day, due to the fact that dh could hardly walk , he really did overdo it at the wall. Wandered around the Wangfujing Street area, then caught the subway to the Silk Markets. Not really our 'cup of tea' but it was interesting. We then walked several blocks ( ;-/ ) to the Park Green View shopping centre, woh!!!! and had a wonderful lunch in the Din Tia Fung there. Can't recommend this enough, its just lovely. Our daughter who was honeymooning in Singapore said they went to one there and really enjoyed it too. Lots of dim sum type choices, fresh and delicious.

Again our evening was spent in the lounge, relaxing.

We were in Beijing for 3 nights in August. On our drive from the airport to Beijing, the air (not just the sky) was completely beige. It looked like a nightmare. But once we got to Beijing, we had beautiful, clear air and skies for the rest of our stay.

My freind in Beijing said it might be because of a visiting dignitary. But since I did not plan my trip to coincide what the dingitary's schedule, I guess I have to say I got lucky.
