Good suggestion! The music, the voices, all so evocative of our trip there last year . . . and they serve three meals a day, 365 days/year, not just one.

Shukria!! You know how much I loved Amritsar (partly thanks to your guide's brother, IndianaP)
For future travelers on the Forum...Hotel Ista is excellent.

Wonderful glimpse on an everyday activity in Amritsar. Can you believe how many really hungry common people get fed on a daily basis. A truly beautiful and clean place showing love and respect to one and all.
Hope many Fodorites have a chance to visit and enjoy this temple.

Fodorites gotta go to Amritsar for the Golden Temple and the Wagah Border ceremony! Not to be missed! We like Svaasa where we stayed for two nights.

Off to NH tomorrow and will be in cyber purdah for a week . . .

I have to agree about Amritsar.

My trip to that city, by overnight train from Delhi and highlighted, of course, by the visit to the Golden Temple, ranks among the most vivid memories of a lifetime of travel.
