a good read for asian travelers
For anyone who has ever traveled to asia (especially southeast asia-- burma and yunan province) you should get a copy of Amy Tan's new novel "Saving Fish from Drowning." From a literary standard it's not her best but it is great reading for anyone who has traveled in this area or has ever taken a group tour. I laughed out loud on the bus today. I'm less than half through it so it may become less interesting but so far I'd say it's a must read for those of us who are passionate about our asia travel. If you're planning your first trip there, I'd wait to read it until you get back.

This book is written by Texiera. (can`t think of her first name). I have seen some of her travel writing in magazines but Victorine is a book. Victorine is a story of what happened to her great grandmother. She lived in France, married and had 2 children, then left and went to Indochina with another man. She writes alot about the area. In the end, Victorine goes back to France, and to her husband. The author wrote this book after seeing her great grandfather`s massive headstone, and great grandmother got a little falling apart cross. A very interesting book!
