3 days in Xi'an too much?

I'm not sure how 3 nights equals 4 days, unless you plan to arrive early in the morning before your first night, and plan to leave late in the day after your third night. Normally I refer to it as 3 nights or TWO days, as you really only have two full days between the three nights.
But in any case, no that is not too much. There is plenty to do. I ended up doing a "tour" which was a private guide and driver but that way I could pack more into one day (and I only had one full day) than I could do on my own. But that was just for the real "must sees". You can add much more if you have three or four days.

I've been to Xi'an three times now, so I certainly don't think two or three full days would be too much. Plenty to do in town and I hear there's more outside, although I've only ever visited the Terracotta Warriors (twice, not three times). I think my favorite site may be the Temple to the Eight Great Immortals, but wandering the back streets is (or was - may have been cleaned up by now) fun.

I recently spent 4 very full days there, and did not fit in Hua Shan (which sounds lovely). Here's a link to my trip report -
