2nd Trip to Japan

Once again I'm coming to this forums as a great source of the information. So I ask the Japan experts... I'm planning a second trip to Japan this december. The first time I visited Tokyo, Kyoto, Miyajima, Takayama, Nikko, Kamakura and Nara. What do you suggest for a second visit to Japan. I have been thinking Kanazawa and Hakone. What else do you recommend on a second visit? How is the weather in the end of december?

Do you have flight plans already or are you flexible on that?

I loved Shikoku and the inland Sea (what I saw of it) and plan to go back there. Takamatsu was nice and I want to go to Matsuyama and Dogo onsen there. And the Ise Peninsula, on Honshu, below Tokyo, also has nice onsen, on the coast, some of them w/views of the sea. I plan to go there next time also.

I think it will be pretty cold though. But onsen are great when it is cold.

Kanazawa is nice enough for us to live in for 11 years. If there is fresh snow, and the past few years it has snowed a lot in December, Kenrokuen is especially beautiful.
