1 week or 2 weeks in Koh Samui?
We are planning a trip from India to Koh Samui. Do you think 2 weeks is too long or is 10 days enough? Mainly we just want to relax on the beach. This is our first time to Koh Samui. Is there very much to do on the island like shopping and restaurants? Thanks.

Two weeks could be a bit long but probably not if you are serious beach lovers. Most of the action (shopping & restaurants) is at Chaweng Beach, but Lamai Beach is also good. There's many things to do on Samui, you can take tours and visit various attractions. You can also easily hop around to neighboring islands like Koh Phangan & Koh Tao.

i would find two weeks to be too long...we spent 5 days and that was perfect...
may i suggest that you consider spending one week and then another week elsewhere....bangkok air now has a flight from samui to koh chang a few days per week....that might be a nice alternative for you

2 weeks for just sitting on the beach in Koh Samui seems a little bit long; however, Koh Samui is a great base to the islands in the Gulf of Thailand, eg Koh Phangan etc.
