When to buy ticket?

Hello..I need some advice on buying an airline ticket..one way...from Dominican Republic to the states..,,I want to travel on aug 25 and before sept 1.....I heard ticket prices drop on Tuesdays..Wednesdays,,,best time to buy them....,,but I am afraid if I wait then the prices will go higher.....should I wait or go ahead and buy? Everybody would like the answer to that question but NO ONE can give it to you!!! Truth is it's impossible to predict whether airline prices will go up or down at any given time. ALL YOU CAN EXPECT is that, at some point, they will change - in which directions is anyone's guess.

If you've been monitoring fares to your destination you have some idea of the "fare range". In that case when you see a fare you can live with go ahead and book it as you might never see it again.

Isn't the advice about Tuesday and Wednesday not about buying the tickets on those days but flying on those days? They tend to be less popular days to travel, so you can frequently find less expensive fares for those days.

Aug. 25 is a week from tomorrow. Chances are that any inexpensive fare has been snapped up already. As RoamsAround says, you've been monitoring fares. You know what the range is. Grab something if you can live with it. I doubt fares will go down in the next week.

No guarantees, of course.

You can never predict the price of an air ticket as there is no certainty to which direction they will go - to higher or to the lower. I would suggest you to fly on weekdays rather than on weekends because flying on weekends cost you more.
