We flew USAir from the east coast to London last summer and liked them just fine. If you're flying in one of their airbuses, you'll have an indiviual videoscreen, lot of fun!

The fact that it has the cheapest prices is appealing. But, you get what you pay for. Uncomfortable seats, no meals on domestic flights, no music, no television.......

Well, since i usually fly coach anyway, I'm used to uncomfortable seating and as for meals, I usually bring my own.Ditto music.
but thanks for the warning.

I have flown US Air quite a bit. I'm always happy with their service. If you are flying during a meal time (i.e. breakfast, lunch or dinner), you will be served a meal - otherwise, you will be served a snack (like most of the other airlines out there). I have had the opportunity to be bumped on US Air often also -- so when you check in, ask if the flight is overbooked. If you volunteer your seat, you will be given a seat (usually first class) on the next flight out and a free r/t trip voucher good for one year. Sometimes you'll get food vouchers and a hotel room overnight (if the next flight is not until the next day)...

Hey! I always fly US Airways. At least 3 or 4 trips a year and I have always been safisfied with their planes, service, flight times, connections,
and they have been very flexible when they change flight times and let me book the time I want without a penalty.
I'm sure you'll like US Airways...

Oh man, I flew US Air from Philly to New Orleans, and I'm gonna regret it at my life... delayed, crowded, bathroom with no paper towels...try United instead next time

USAirways overall is a very good carrier. Their inflight crew are mostly from the Southeast Region of the United States. I have seen more smiles on their crews than I see on American Airlines where a large number of AA's inflight staff are too old and bitter. They were probably flying the DC-6's!! Anyway, USAirways will give you a full meal at the appropriate times of the day, too!
I appreciate them because they treat me as if they really appreciate my business. And please note, I am not an elite member with USAirways.

I fly USAir every week, over 100,000 miles per year. They cut almost every service after 9/11. Almost everything is back, food, pillows movies etc. have all been restored. They are about the same as everyone else. It will depend somewhat on the plane. 757 fair, 767 better (unless you get the center seat.) The big new airbus 330s are really nice.

Yea and they are on the verge of Chapter 11, unless we the taxpayer bails them out.

If you purchase tickets thru any website other than USAirways, especially a 'web only' fare, and they go belly up you will lose your money. They are desperate for cash! Consequently, they are unloading as much inventory as they can at the lowest price possible...money losing fares. Good for the consumer, bad for USAirways. Bad for both if the gamble doesn't pay off.

I like USAir as well as any of the other domestic airlines. I might agree with Michael that on average their flight crews may be a little friendlier than some other airlines', but I really can't think of any airline where I'd say their crews are universally nice or universally surly. Sometimes you get good ones and sometimes you don't.

I'd say that probably if you found yourself on a USAir flight and the FAs didn't have name tags with the company logo, you probably wouldn't be able to tell whether you were on USAir or Delta or Continental or what. (I'd say the only domestic airline whose flight attendants really stand out would be Southwest; I kind of lump all the other carriers together).
