United Baggage Question
Nothing makes me miss the good ole days more than air travel.
United website has checked baggage size limit as 62". My bag is 67" including handle.
My question- how much will I have to pay? I can't find the answer on the website. I do find the fee amounts for overweight, but not oversized. I also cannot find a 1-800 # to ask.
Thanks

i have never had a bag measured either and wondering how common it is. I would prefer to take the bag I already own but hesitated when I saw the peramaters on the website. If I knew what the penalty is I could decide whether or not to take a chance!
I don't have Twitter but thanks for replies.

"Customers who travel with checked baggage exceeding 62 linear inches (158 cm) (total length + width + height) will be required to pay a service charge per bag or item, based on the itinerary. To determine service charges for oversized baggage for your trip, use our baggage calculator, and after your results are displayed, check the box for “Additional and other bag charges.” These service charges are in addition to any charge assessed for additional or overweight baggage. Baggage measuring more than 115 inches (292 cm) will not be accepted as checked baggage. View the Excess Baggage page for more information."
