Transit time at JFK from T4 to T1
Hi,
I am arriving at JFK with a Delta domestic flight at 6:05pm a friday afternoon, and I am supposed to leave to CDG at 7:20pm with an AF flight leaving from Terminal 1. Both flights are under the same ticket number.
Is the connection time (75 minutes) sufficient, and what is the best way to connect (in particular, can I stay behind security checks)?
Thanks.

You will take the AirTrain between terminals. Total time, arrival gate to T1 security will be 15 to 20min. Your bags will be checked through to Paris and you will (should) have a boarding pass issued by Delta for the Paris flight as well, so all you will need to do is proceed to the gate.
No, you cannot stay behind security, and Yes, 75min is sufficient if your 1st flight is on time.

@Seb_Nantes That is likely not enough time these days given the back-ups in security. Early evening can be a busy time for check-ins. You cannot stay within security for this transfer, so you do have to go through again. Move as quickly as humanly possible, and if you don't make it, you should be able to get on another flight if there's room (this is likely a "legal" connection, but security at JFK can last over an hour at very busy times, making it unlikely that you'd make this connection these days).
Your best bet is to make sure you check in for both flights as early as possible. Tell the agents at the front of the security line that you have a short connection and be firm that you need to be expedited.
