I have 3 friends that packed their PCs in their checked luggage - only 1 ever got their PC at the end. I would never check mine. That being said, I have a tote bag, where I put my purse and my PC in, and it hangs off my little tiny rolling bag, and is very easy to carry. Second, to make things easier for you, since you know the things that you have to pull off when you go through security - don't wear them. Wear jeans and top (with no belt), small earrings and nothing heavy as far as metal is concerned. I travel all the time for business, and I am constantly amazed at what people wear when they travel - I saw one guy with kind of like metal chains that seemed to go into a bunch of different locations in his jeans - had his wallet on one, a watch on another, etc - aside from it just being ugly - what they heck was he thinking when he put that on that morning???? You don't mention where you are moving from in Canada - but you SURE are going to have better weather in GC - have a GREAT time (it's my favorite Caribbean Island!!!)

Thanks Deb.

Funny thing is....I have never had a problem going through security before with a belt, etc. I took off my watch (of course) and emptied out my pockets etc. I think the guy was just having a bad day...but seriously...my hair clip?! I would have laughed but the guy wasn't looking too happy so I managed to contain myself.

I am actually moving from Vancouver down to Cayman. The weather right now here? rain, rain, rain, oh...and more rain. It is more springlike than winterlike right now (we had 2 feet of snow last week, it's all gone now), but I am definitely looking forward to some sunshine!

My daughter had her Ipod stolen from our checked lugggage and Qantas said they took no responsiblity for electronic goods that are checked. We did get some money from insurance after the deductible.
