Award inventory can be added at any time. 331 days in advance is just the earliest date you can make an award reservation with DL. It doesn't mean that award seats will be loaded at that time. I'd say that my transatlantic redemptions have been almost equally divided among DL, AF and KL flights.

I wouldn't use Starwood for UA and CO as those transfer at a 2:1 ratio of Starpoints:ffm as opposed to 1:1 for most other carriers.

We've had the Starwood Amex card for several years and love it. We just transferred 20k miles into my husband's Alaska Airlines account and it took two business days for the 25k to show up. We then transferred an additional 40k (received the 50k) so that my son and I could also fly and it took three days despite the site saying it would take 2-4 weeks.
We've found very few places that don't take Amex and we end up putting most of our purchases and monthly bills onto it just to accumulate the miles. Wish our mortgage payment could go on it too!
