Realistic connection time for Miami/St. Thomas
I'll be traveling from the west coast of the US to St. Thomas in March 2022. American has many flights that connect through Miami onward to St. Thomas. What is a realistic amount of time for a transfer? They run the gamut from 41 minutes to over 5 hours. Is 60 - 90 minutes doable? I know MIA is a busy airport and I've never connected through it. Thank you!

I wouldn't even begin to look at flight/connection times for months yet. Any schedule published for more than maybe 6-8 weeks out is merely a place holder due to covid impact. Flights are being changed / canceled / added every day. But as long as its on one ticket you are protected and will be put on the next available flight. On an AA through ticket I'd personally be comfortable with an hour connection (but not if the St Thomas flight is the last one of the day because any delays would hold you over til the next morning at least)
