Lynnaustin, yes it's business class, I know ALL of the passengers are going to groan in unison when we walk on board, but she seriously is an angelic baby, I know everyone thinks that of there own baby, but I wouldn't even attempt this trip if she was difficult. I hope we dont' get the stink eye from too many of the business folks on the plane.

Giulia, I just use the scented bags and tie them up and toss them in the lavatory garbage. Don't worry about business class - whenever I have the miles to upgrade, that's right where we go - I tried to time our trips so we were boarded about the time she was hungry - nursed during takeoff - that took care of any potential ear pain, and she slept for hours. My other trick was that I carried her in a sling - popped her in after she was fed, she was happy, and the majority of people never knew she was on board.
FWIW, my carry-on was packed with diapers and wipes, burp cloths, spare clothes (two sets for each of us) Tylenol and a syringe, pacifiers, a few small toys (rattle, teethers, etc) hand sanitizer, ziplocs (for the dirty clothes) her blanket, my travel pillow (not for my neck - but great as a mini-Boppy for positioning her when you think your arms will fall off from holding her after an 8-hour flight!). I divide this between a small backpack and my carry-on, so that I can keep the backpack to hand and don't have to be jumping up to the overhead bin when I really need something. I love my multi-zippered backpack rather than a diaper bag, when it's all zipped up I can cram it under my seat and know nothing's falling out. Hope that helps!

As an FYI, when traveling with our baby DD who had a stomach problem, we discovered that the airplane had baby diapers on board for just such emergencies. BUT, bring double the amount you would normally need as baby will be off her schedule/norm and that can create problems. Bring a box of the zipper freezer bags and you should have no problem with diaper disposal. Have fun!

Ah, yes... the stink eye. Ignore it. Your daughter (at four months old) could walk on the plane curtsey, tap dance and say, in perfect English "Pardon me sir/madam, but I promise to be no trouble at all!" and then fall asleep for the entire flight and there would *still* be people on the plane who found her ill behaved. Your duty is to your daughter. To attend to her needs. (And consequently, if you do that, she'll probably be no problem to the other passengers at all.)

Also, I agree with txgirlinbda, a backpack is the way to go over a diaper bag.
