Dear Patty, I just want to thank you again! I actaully ended up talking to Amex this afternoon. I am all set with the Gold card..first year no fee of course. I will decide before the one year expiration if I want to pay the $95.00 or go with their no fee card. I get 20,000 miles for signing up and after using their credit card the first time and 5,000 miles as I ordered two cards for my daughter and son-in-law (they sometimes shop for me, electronic/computer products etc.) so I will have 25,000 miles added to my FF a/c. I will have the NWA miles transferred over to Delta when I receive the credit card along with my Delta FF a/c # which will be in about ten days. And Patty I got a great limit for the Amex Delta card so that wasn't a problem either.

I wish I could take you out to dinner as a thank you Patty but since that isn't possible I will just say thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Delta was supposed to credit 500 miles for linking my NWA account. Instead they only gave the 1 mile expiration (my account wasn't expiring). I will have to check with my daughter as I had her link also to see if she was only credited 1 mile. I linked another relative's account and they just got the 1 mile. They also froze DH's account - we can't access it. Looks like I will be calling Delta tomorrow.

I think when Delta had the problem with people upset thinking the linking of accounts would reset expirations, they somehow screwed the bonus up in the process.

Any other bonus miles out there?

AmEx transfer bonus of 30% good until end of July, but you must register and use the link first on Delta's website.

Glad it worked out, LoveItaly!

kybourbon,
How long ago did you link? It took over 6 weeks before I received the linking bonus.

I linked in April. I talked to Delta and they don't know what happened. They said they didn't have any record of the links for any of the three accounts. Luckily, I have my e-mail telling me the accounts were linked (dated 4/26)and that the 500 miles would be credited in 4-6 weeks. I had my daughter forward her e-mail to me (dated 4/28). I will have to contact my cousin and see if he still has his e-mail and then I have to fax all of it to Delta with a letter. This is a hassle because my cousin doesn't travel and I set up a NWA account for him, took the test for the 400 miles at NWA U, reactivated his Delta account which he let expire in January (with miles in the account), linked the accounts for the 500 miles and planned to transfer his AmEx points before the end of the month for the 30% bonus. I'm trying to get him set up for a trip to Italy with me.

Odd thing about talking to Delta today. They asked if I had transferred miles between the accounts which I hadn't so am not sure why they couldn't tell the activity.

Patty - I don't know how you manage multiple relatives accounts. It's a hassle.
