I just visited the web site for Marco Polo Airport and it lists its hours of operation as 24H, yet everything I have seen in the threads here reads that it closes at night and reopens at 5am. Does anyone know if the hours have changed recently?
I have a 6:30am departure and am worried about getting to the airport early enough.

We took the earliest Alilaguna boat from Zattere (04:20), which arrives at the airport at 05:45, and the airport was open. There were minimal lines at security that early, so processing was quick.

I also have had the 6:30 flights out of Venice. Both times we arrived around 5:00 am thinking we needed the extra time for international travel check in. Both times we sat in the lobby for 30 to 45 mintues before employees arrived and started ticketing/check in. The airport is actually quite small, so the distance from ticketing/security/and check in was short and the getting through it all didn't take very much time at all.

Good Luck, I did the same as Sandy. Was the last in line and was refused to board the plane. With boarding pass, ID and passport in hand they would not take an extra 30 seconds to put me on the plane even though I was in line along with everyone else. I will never again take the early flight out of Venice. Employees standing around and waiting to process passengers in rude.
