I used to fly Continental quite a bit (I fly out of Newark) but I've noticed in the past year or so that AA is offering MUCH BETTER prices than Continental...whether it's flying within the U.S. or to the Caribbean.
Has anybody else noticed that? and know why? I know both companies are doing well (at least compared to many other airlines).

Depends on how soon you book. In general, CO doens't like to release cheap fares early on. Closer to the flight, but not VERY CLOSE, then you'll see the prices comparable.

In fact, CO is infamous for not releasing ANY fare to South America during Christmas time for months after its competitors have been selling them.

I agree! I was checking prices to Austin several months ago for Labor Day and Continental wanted $400. Now the prices are much lower and the other airlines have raised their prices a little.
