How many 3 oz can you carry?

TSA.com states you can carry 3 oz containers in your carry-on within a ziploc bag. Soooo, can you carry several 3 oz shampoos? Only only one? Thanks.

As Travelermebe states.

I believe the ziplock bag has to be able to zip closed also.

Maybe I read this wrong. We just got back from traveling so I did not carry-on any liquid or gel just to avoid the hassle.

3 𢴏 for carry-ons = 3 ounce bottle or less; 1 quart-sized, clear, plastic, zip-top bag; 1 bag per passenger placed in screening bin. One-quart bag per person limits the total liquid volume each traveler can bring. 3 oz. container size is a security measure.

Oh well, for all the guidelines, go to http://www.tsa.gov/assets/pdf/311-brochure.pdf

As others have said, so long as it is in 3 oz. containers and fits in a closed 1 quart ziplock bag, it doesn't matter what is in the containers. On a recent trip, I had two containers of shampoo and two containers of rinse, along with my toothpaste, deodorant, gel, etc. The bag was tight, but it passed through security with no problem.

It is 3.3 oz. or 100 mg. As many that will fit in a quart size bag.

Yes, the others are correct that it's as many 3oz (100ml) containers that will fit in 1 1qt bag.

But, I can picture a SNL skit with a fashion police/retentive TSA agent, inspecting the contents of each and every bottle. Tossing the 'regular' shampoo if you obviously need 'greasy hair forumla', or not allowing regular toothpaste if you need the 'whitening kind', etc.

On a recent Southwest flight, a guy sitting in the window seat in my row pulled out his quart bag, took out two containers with clear liquid in them and proceeded to pour the contents in his orange juice. I thought that was real funny.

LOL Ms Go exactly my thought!

I don't remember which forum it was, Bill Iamq posted a URL of the website selling filled ziplocks - travelers' kits, they look cute.
