Help Needed to Book Reward Tickets to Europe

I had this issue with USAirways last summer in booking awards tickets for our upcoming trip to London and Scotland. They held the outgoing flights (which were just what I wanted) to Heathrow until about 24 hours after the window opened for the return trips.
However, when I called at 12:01 a.m. on the first day of the return window I found that USAirways hadn't released any return tickets at my level (I was going for the 25,000 each way coach tickets). Even though I was willing to return from any number of airports in the UK or on the Continent, nothing was available on USAirways. I ended up booking the return on Lufthansa from Glasgow with a plane change in Frankfurt. Then I kept monitoring availability and when a USAirways non-stop from Glasgow became available I paid the change fee and switched to that flight.
