Hawaii interisland flight- which airline?

For an inter-island flight in the Hawaiian islands which airline is better--Hawaiian or Aloha? Are they both pretty equal as far as delays etc? Since the flights are pretty short is there really any advantage to one over the other? (between HNL and either Maui or Kauai). Thanks.

I think they are pretty much the same, but I personally prefer Aloha. My office (and also the last place I worked) uses Aloha exclusively for business travel.

I would see if you could get a cheaper fare on one airline and look at the flight schedules and see what works best.

Used to be that both Hawaiian and Aloha would have competing flight schedules (with flights taking off at the same time), but within the last couple years they coordinated their flight schedules a bit more so now if Aloha has a flight at noon, for example, Hawaiian will have the next flight at 1 p.m., etc.

these airlines are so close in quality and amenities and the flights are so short that the only considerations would likely be cost (often equal), most convenient flight times and frequent flier miles.

Hawaiian uses newer Boeing 717 planes, seating is 2 x 3. Aloha uses older 737's which had leather seats when I rode them, quite loud and seat 3 x 3. Because there is little difference, make your decision with price and time schedule. Frequent flyer miles might be something to consider but there are not many miles involved here.
