Well done BeachBoi.
Oil closed at ~$124/barrel today. Yes, prices have dropped in the last couple of weeks but there's still no comparison to where we were at this time last year, which was around $75/barrel. I would like to believe flight costs will drop too but I'm not holding my breath. The airlines have lost too much money in the last year and plans are already underway to cut routes. This will result in less flight capacity, more full flights, and higher fares.
Sorry to be the wet blanket, I want to dream of low fares too....but I just can't.

Amusing post....here's why I say that
Booked AA flights DCA-MIA for three people for December 2008 about a year out.
Total cost (coach): $1287 and this is leaving on 26 Dec w/return 3 Jan
Priced the exact same itinerary and flights a few minutes ago:
Total cost: $2007
Are airline prices going to go down?
You tell me.
