Flying with Aunt's Ashes

On Saturday, I am flying to Denver with my Aunt's ashes. She died back in August at the age of 102. Her ashes were placed in a wooden container. I was planning to put her in my carry-on bag because I don't want to "loose her again." Will I have any problems with the airport scanner?

Shouldn't be a problem - I travelled with my father's ashes and not a word was said by any screener.

I had that same question two years go when we took my FIL's ashes to Arlington. My husband carried them and not a word was said by anyone, including the screeners. Wouldn't worry.

Thanks for your comments. I was told by the funeral home that it was a good thing that I had selected a wood urn instead of a metal one.

I never wondered how ashes traveled until my father's ashes arrived via UPS in rural Georgia. Only indication on box of contents was a "non-perishable" sticker. (I am not kidding)
