EasyJet Problems

Be cautious if you book a cheap EasyJet flight in Europe. On 10/18 I had an 11:20 am flight from Paris Orly to Geneva. Several announcements of delays were made, then nothing. Finally, after about an hour it became clear upon pushing my way through the crowd to the gate attendants that the flight was cancelled even though no announcement was made. Much confusion and shouting. The word was that everyone would be booked on the 6:00 pm flight and should return at 4:20 pm and that your luggage would be put on that flight. Being skeptical of how so many additional people could fit on that flight, I returned to the customer service desk in the lobby. They told me that there were no seats on the evening flight and that I should retrieve my luggage which was being offloaded while we spoke. When asked how I could get to Geneva the response was to take the train! (Which I did.) They then gave me a form (in French) that apparently is to be used to try to obtain a refund. This airline has obvious problems.

Why don't we just shut the freaking airline down? Damn, this can't happen again and I mean NEVER! I'm with you on this one. What's the plan my (never once screwed up anything in life) fearless leader? Waiting for your instructions.

This months "Fast Company" magazine has an article on the 34 year old Greek owner. He definetly has a "screw you" attitude. His goal is to make money...period...and do away with customer service. He is making money hand over fist, this guy!

ABC..I have heard your complaint loud and clear. This isn't the first time I have heard such on Easy Jet. I'm told if you dont' mind flights being cancelled, that Easy Jet is cheap. Sad thing is, nobody at Easy Jet really cares. They have your money, sucker.

I have a british friend who refuses to fly this airline. She told me that the owner is extremely patronizing and condescending when he refers to his customers. He once referred to them as "cattle", that would certainly explain the greediness of his business. There are other cheapo airlines that fly within the european areas...best to stay with one that has a good track record and sensible customer service policies and personnel.

I've flown EasyJet several times in the last few years (about 5 roundtrips) and have always had a pleasant experience.

If lots of other people experience the same problems as abc, EasyJet will definitely get into trouble - competition is intense, especially out of their home base in London.
