Checked in at Virgin Atlantic; they checked me through just to LHR, no problem--I mentioned I had a change in plans. Easy connection to GW at Heathrow; flight to Koln was on time; Koln Bonn to Venice 45 minutes late, as per many reviews.

BTW VA was fantastic.

I did this on a RTW trip last year - more than once - with no problems whatsoever.
